Museums & more

A city that has been designated a famous watchmaking city and World Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO is more or less destined to offer a few cultural landmarks of note.
In La Chaux-de-Fonds, you can expect to find plenty of museums and exhibitions on the subject of watchmaking. The International Museum of Watches is located here, for example.
‘If you want to see something extraordinary, you need to look at what others are not seeing. (Le Corbusier)’
Even the famous architect Le Corbusier, who was born here in 1887, left his mark on the city. The most interesting site related to him is the Maison Blanche, the first building Le Corbusier designed – a home for his parents and, for him, an experimental laboratory for his first ideas about construction techniques.
